Thermal insulation blankets are used to cover the heating elements on a heat treatment set up, to help ensure the desired temperature is reached, reduce heat losses away from the edge of the heaters, and provide personnel protection.
In addition to enhanced thermal properties, large nuisance dust particles have been effectively eliminated making the product soft to the touch and less irritating during use.
Superwool 607™ thermal insulation blanket, classification temperature 1200°C. Suitable for preheat, PWHT and higher temperature applications on carbon and low alloys steels.
Superwool is a high temperature insulating fibre blanket manufactured from Calcium Magnesium Silicate. These qualities mean that Superwool represents a lower respiratory hazard than ceramic fibre, although, as with all high temperature insulating fibre, normal respiratory protection in the form of an appropriate dust mask should be worn during handling
This 25mm (0.5″) thick Insulation blanket roll is supplied in 7.3m (50′). 128 kg/m³ (8 lbs ) density insulation, though costing a little more, has better insulation properties than 96 kg/m³ (6 lbs) insulation.
Superwool is a high temperature insulating fibre blanket manufactured from Calcium Magnesium Silicate. This material has a thermal performance equivalent to refractory ceramic fibre up to 1200ºC (2192 F). However, unlike ceramic fibre, Superwool is body soluble and has a larger needle particle size. These qualities mean that Superwool represents a lower respiratory hazard than ceramic fibre, although, as with all high temperature insulating fibre, normal respiratory protection in the form of an appropriate dust mask should be worn during handling.
Meshed Superwool insulation fabrics are designed for Heat Treatment Applications.
High Temperature Performance
Superwool performs well in high temperatures, especially against potential chemical attacks or the formation of crystalline-based silica.
Low Thermal Conductivity
Among similar options on the fibre market, Superwool provides a reduced amount of thermal conductivity.
Reduced Shot
Superwool offers a consistently uniform fibre with low shot content that contributes to industry leading thermal efficiency.
